The Great Ugg Debate of 2011

So here are Ty's new Uggs, they came in the mail yesterday and I am so in love. I debated back and forth on whether or not to get a little boy Uggs since they are gay on grown men. I posted several times on Facebook asking my guy friends if they thought it would be socially acceptable for my son to wear Uggs. This question always got many responses from everyone across the board. The consensus was that I shouldn't get Ty Uggs. However I have never been one to really listen to other people especially when it comes to fashion so I broke down and ordered them. Afterall how long can I really get away with putting semi gay clothes and shoes on my baby? I knew I had to take advantage of his age and inability to talk while I could.
So I posted this picture last night on Facebook and it got some people all riled up, especially my husband. He's always hated my Uggs so you can imagine his dismay when he saw that his son now owned a pair. He told me that I should just be buying Zips from Walmart. Dude whatever just wait until he sees how cute they are on him. Unfortunately South Carolina is currently experiencing somewhat of a heatwave, getting up in the 70s all week. Of course. Not to worry though, we leave for New York next week for Christmas and I know not even Al Gore and Global warming can make New York warm this time of year. The DeWildes will be having a very Uggy Christmas. Merry Christmas to Uggs and to Ugg a goodnight.

Some Phone Pictures

Took Ty out to my friends farm today. He was let loose to run free with all these animals and I kid you not the kid goes straight to the heavy machinery. He's telling me to put him up on their tractor and telling the pig to get away from him. Obsessed much?

For some reason both he and his friend Marli wanted to play in her play pin. They stayed in there quite a while together playing with all the baby toys.

I finally got him to pay attention to the animals. They just had 2 baby goats born yesterday. OMG so cute! I love goats especially teeny tiny ones like this one.

Ty in the baby goat pin. He was very mindful not to step in the poop in here and he kept pointing it out to me saying "poop". However once let out of this pin he went straight to a pile of goat droppings and picked them up. I had to get it out of his hands with a stick. Gross!!

It cracks me up that Ty has no fear of these animals. He made all of their sounds, trying to talk to them. My favorite one he does now is the chicken. He ran after them saying "bawk, bawk, bawk."

Just realized yesterday that the Packers play the Bears on Christmas night. Great since we will be spending our Christmas with huge Packers fans and they're going to kill the Bears. Ty wanted to wear my scarf today so I got the Bears one. We are trying to teach him to say Da Bears and I must say he's getting very close. He should have it down perfect by Christmas.

Went to the Aiken Trail of Lights last night. Poor quality pictures but I needed something to remember it by. We went past a nativity light display and I said "look Ty baby Jesus" and he said in his typical inquisitive tone "jesus?!?" He's so sweet.

After the lights we had to go to dad's jobsite to run the dozer and roller due to impending ran. If I had to bet, I would say that that was Ty's favorite part of the nght.

Christmas Lights During the Day

Not too much to write about these pictures, I just think they're cute. They were taken at the Hopeland Gardens where we go all the time except this time all their lights were up for their trail of lights (which by the way we are going to tonight). I thought it would be cute to get some pictures of Ty with the lights during the day. He's so funny because he goes up to all Christmas lights whether they're on or not and says "ooh hot, hot" in a funny little whisper. This is what we told him so he wouldn't get the urge to touch and pull down all Christmas lights that he saw and I must say its worked out pretty well. About once a day he will go over to our tree and act like he's reaching to touch the lights then he'll stop and say "hot, hot" I tell you this kid is hilarious.

Winter Wonderland

USC Aiken (the little local college here in Aiken) had a Winter Wonderland that they put on for the kids. I guess it was the various student groups and sororities that had booths set up. It was cute. There was a little hayride that went around the campus (yes another hayride, I tell ya South Carolina loves them some Hayrides this was my 4th one that I have been on) Santa was there, they had a faux ice skating rink, tons of cookies and candy, ornament making and Ty's favorite the "snow". They had big foam bubble machines set up all around to mimic snow and it dd a pretty good job. Ty had a lot of fun playing in it so the trip out there was worth it just for that. The bubble snow reminded me of the "foam parties" they used to have at a club when I was in college and they just filled the club with that nasty foam stuff and everyone got drunk. Ahhh good times but surprisingly I enjoyed this experience with the foam way more. The pictures are not great since it was dark and I couldn't figure out how to get my flash to work with my new lens, oh well.

Ty watching the ice skaters. I don't know what the rink was made out of or how it worked but it was some kind of hard floor and the kids used actual ice skates on it.

Ty was so excited about the cookies and candy I let him eat. His favorite was the pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate. He sucked off all the chocolate and threw down the pretzel. He also really liked the regular minty candy canes which I thought was kind of odd but that's my child. When given the choice between a cookie or an apple, the apple wins out every time. He's got a food pallet of a 70 year old.
