Where the DeWilde Things Are

Lately I've really been wanting another baby. There are a lot of reasons I want to have my 2nd one so close to Ty and there are a lot of reasons not to. I didn't make a pros and cons list and I didn't sit down and make a detailed budget for the next 10 years this time I prayed. I've been praying a lot lately and can I just say that it has improved my attitude towards just about everything (ok yes I do still make fun of all the ugly hicks here but I make up for by praying for forgiveness each night so that makes it all ok, right?). Anyway I asked God to show me a sign to let me know that I should have a baby now and sure enough 2 days ago he did. I was driving home from play group and I happened to look in the sky and saw a double rainbow. I saw a double rainbow a week after I conceived Ty and asked for a sign that I was pregnant. And here's the kicker both times there had been no rain. So needless to say that's a pretty clear sign that I should go ahead and have a baby. I honestly don't care what I have either there are, again, pluses and minuses for either sex however the chinese calendar does say I will have a girl if I get pregnant this month. Oh and the title of this blog post will be the name of my new blog should I have another child.
So I'd like to leave you with this quote I got out of the book I just read
"Change is not only a part of life ; change is a necessary part of God's strategy. To use us to change the world, he alters our assignment. "

Woke Up This Morning, With Texas On My Mind

Trying to wear my child out totally wears me out. In the end all that we do all day long works and Ty goes right to sleep now and only wakes up once a night but it is exhausting! By the time he goes to sleep at approximately 7:30 I seriously want to crawl into bed myself. We sure do have fun though! Here is a picture of Ty enjoying his first ever happy meal. He had chicken nuggets and fries and loved them. He also got some weird pac man toy which as soon as I gave it to him, he promptly chunked at Paris and made her nervous the rest of the afternoon whenever she saw it.

Today when Ty woke up from his nap (prematurely since idiot Paris barked at Patrick coming in the door) he was in a bad mood. He immediately perked up though when he saw his daddy. Since Patrick was dirty from work he had to run upstairs to change and when he left the room Ty had a breakdown like he does as if it were I leaving. Patrick was so excited and touched by this he said "that means he really loves me." Well duh.

Went to the park and yes its still freaking cold here. Only one more month until we're back in hot weather. I miss hot weather, I miss getting into a car and I miss going to the park without having to put a ton of clothes on me and Ty.

Oh and a few more things I wanted to update on what Ty has been up to/can do now.
Patrick has taught his how to turn off light switches and how to open and close the microwave door which is quite a feat since that door is rather difficult to open and kind of sticks.
He has also started pointing at things that he wants or places he wants to go to which is so cute.
Today at Gymboree he continued to impress all the other moms with his sweetness and sensitivity. He's now known as "Old Man Ty" because they say he is an old soul. He cruises around the gym checking on the crying babies and if one of them hits him or takes something away he calmly will place a hand on them to let them know what they did was wrong, but thats ok with him. I however am in the background trying to get him to hit them back.

Project 365- Week 8

Paris is finally letting Ty get close to her. Here he is pulling himself up on her. I think the fact that he throws her so much food has helped develop their relationship.

Payton was laying on the pillow like a person so Patrick decided to throw a baby on top of her.

Here we are at the park and he's sitting in the front seat while I get the Bjorn on. He's very intently examining my starbucks cup. Isn't his jean jacket so cute and stylish?

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands.

This is first book I knew how to "read" I bought it for Ty today at Target to start reading it to him.

One of Ty's favorite things to do is empty my laundry basket. That's what he's doing here and he's so excited.

This kid can climb the stairs like a pro now. As soon as I see him round the corner to start the stairs I've got to get up and go after him.

Oh and one more thing tonight for the first time Ty stomped his feet for the song "If You're Happy and You Know it"  it was so exciting. The first time he ever clapped his hands was while I was singing it. He apparently loves this song now all he needs to be able to do is "shout hooray!"

Heeeeeee's Back

I got my smiley, happy, sweet baby back. He is finally feeling better and back to his old self. I wish he would never get sick again!
We went to a new park today that ran along the Kentucky River. There was also a Civil War Battlefield there so we walked through that (yes I had the dogs too) and I read Ty all about the battles there and about the special kinds of rock fences that Frakfort specialized in. Its never too soon to start instilling a love of history in my child!

At Gymboree class the other day we had mom discussion time about reading to our kids. I got to brag about Ty only having books on the most recent plane trip and no toys. I walked in on him in the room the other day and he was reading on his own! The boy loves books. And another way that I have realized he's smarted then the other babies his age is that he never ever eats the books or puts them in his mouth. He only ever reads them. The other moms were talking about how they like the cloth books and the bath time books because their kids love eating the books. Ha! Not Ty and I guess I had never thought about it before until I heard the other moms talking. Just another way that my son is smarter then every other baby.

Oh and one more thing, I was going to post this on Facebook the other day but didn't because I figured I would have a lot of angry comments:
The difference between the moms in Austin and Kentucky is every mom in Austin think their baby is the smartest, cutest baby ever to be born the moms in Kentucky think that mine is. I'm going to miss these hicks.

There Goes My Baby

I haven't really had any problems with Ty getting older. I actually enjoy watching him grow and change and he's way more fun now then when he was a newborn by far. However, I started looking at his old pictures last night and that was a big mistake! I forgot how tiny he was just a few short months ago and then it made me really sad. I know he's still a baby and I know there's no stopping the inevitable of him growing up but it doesn't make it any easier.

Wagon Wednesday

Today was a glorious day. The sun was out and it got up to at least 65 degrees. We went over to our friends house to go on a walk. Sadly one of her dogs had passed away since the last time we were there (2 weeks ago) and her other one was super depressed so I decided that visiting with paris and payton would cheer him up and sure enough it did. We loaded the boys into the wagon, the little 4 month old baby Elsy babysits 2 times a week (we call her elf because, well, she looks like one) and the 3 dogs. We were quite a site 3 babies 3 dogs. Funny thing is we still got a honk from a passing truck. Probably because I had on shorts and they don't see legs very often in these parts, this time of year. We had a nice walk and Ty really enjoyed the wagon. Elsy made sure to bring toys for the boys to play with in case they got bored she said "I brought vincents most complicated toy for ty to have to keep him entertained" I love her she is in awe of my child's intelligence and she's not afraid to say it I'm going to miss her so much! I can't believe I'm leaving kentucky in a month! The time flew by and I miss austin, I do but is it bad that I'm not looking forward to leaving here? This is why I don't make friends where we live for 5 months only ever did I make friends with the bartenders at the closest bar before and this is why!

Oh and BTW Ty's shirt has a picture of a chick on it and underneath that it says magnet. So cute but apparently very hard to photograph.

Project 365- Week 7

Feb 21- Still in Austin. My friend Laura took Ty's 9 month pictures. He would not smile at all no matter what I did. Turns out he was about to get sick so that's why I didn't get any smiles. The pictures still turned out great though they look kind of artsy and serious.
Feb 22- Here's a picture of the "ticket" I got while I was getting my hair done. Austin is so stupid and wasteful I got a warning for putting the piece of paper that I paid for my parking spot on the wrong side of the car's window. Give me a break.
Feb 23- Warm enough to wear his new shorts. He loves his basketball toy that I left in Austin. He knew to put the ball through the basket. Do I have a basketball player on my hands? Doubt it, he's white.
Feb 24- Look how sick he looks! You can just see it in his eyes! I know I've already used this picture but its the only picture I took this day. Poor baby!
Feb 25- I already used this one too but its fast becoming my favorite picture ever its just so sweet. I love that Ty gives hugs now!
Feb 26- The official 9 month shot. I did get the real one but I thought this one was funny because he took off so fast and left Payton with the sign. It's so hard to get him to sit still for his picture anymore. I can't even imagine what it will be like when he can walk!
Feb 27- These are the only pictures I took today. I'm selling all my super skinny-will never fit again- jeans on ebay and I had to photograph all of them . Good times.
