Decorating for a Baby for Halloween is fun, Decorating With a Baby is Not

I put up our Halloween decorations today. And I must say they are spectacular. I love them they turned out better then I had hoped. I even got a compliment from my husband, which is rare he NEVER gives compliments. I guess after all of the blogs I read I was inspired to do something awesome yet homemade and most importantly, cheap. I feel like it is my duty now as a stay at home mom to decorate for holidays and to do it well. I have been planning what I was going to do for a while now and I finally executed it. Ty and I made several trips to Hobby Lobby, Target and the Dollar Tree and here are the results

I got all of the lights at Target. It was apparent that the colors of the season were lime green, purple and orange so that’s what I decided to do. Most of the little accents I guess you would call them were purchased in the dollar section of Target. I got the black tulle at Hobby Lobby which I used as a base and what I attached things too. I think it really added to it all.

I grew up in a house with a pretty grand staircase that was a focal point of the house. My favorite part of Christmas decorations there was the staircase and the  lighted garland that my dad would put up every year so you can imagine my excitement when I learned of our staircase and banister (its going to look awesome for Christmas too.)

I got the rest of the decorations at the Dollar Tree, the store where everything is really a dollar. The wall décor is a little on the cheesy side but I have a kid and I decided I needed something more then just the fancy banister.

Now to the title of this blog it was a pain in my ass trying to get all of these decorations up. At one point I looked over and Ty had gotten a hold of my scissors and had cut a hole in the crotch of his shorts he was wearing. I mean I seriously had left the room for 5 seconds and he was already going to town with scissors. He wanted to put the pretty lights in his mouth and was fascinated by the tulle and wanted to pull it off the railing and wrap himself in it. So anyway after finally putting on an Elmo I was able to finish everything up and when Patrick walked in he was in awe, really.
Yay for Halloween!
