Playgroup Halloween Party

The next day was my Mom's Group Halloween potluck party. I had Patrick make a super yummy recipe that was garlic, chicken and cream cheese baked in a crescent roll they were the best thing there! He even left work that morning to come home and make them right before the party so that they would be fresh. I wonder how many of the other husbands would have done that for their wives potluck party. Anyway Ty had a good time and I had an even better time because I got to talk to all the other moms while my mom watched and ran after Ty. The food was pretty good and a nice time was had by all. I didn't get many pictures at this event because lets face it I really don't care for pictures of other people's kids. I got a couple of these pictures from other mom's facebook posts.

Nursing Home Trick or Treat

I got quite a few blog posts to catch up on since I didn't write any the whole time my mom was here and we did quite a few things that warrant a blog post. Today is actually Halloween. We did so many things leading up to Halloween that it's kind of hard for me to believe that it is just now the actual day of trick or treating. Its cold outside which is what I've always wished for for Halloween.and its kind of awesome since my child has a big furry costume that would have caused heat stroke had we been in Texas this year.
So I guess we will go n chronological order of this past weeks events and start with Trick or Treating at the nursing home. It was so sweet. The old people were so happy to see the little ones and had such a good time handing out candy, it really made my heart smile. The first couple of rooms/people we came to Ty was a bit apprehensive to get too close as soon as he realized they were handing out candy he went full force into all the rooms, even walking into the ones that weren't participating. Ty also learned how to say the word candy super quick hmmm someone has a sweet tooth like his mom.
The pictures I took with Ty and the old people are just so innocent and sweet I just love them.

I'm cookie Monster. Pretty clever, right?

Ty was so excited about his treats, he couldn't wait to eat them and carried these Goldfish in his mouth for quite a while.

I mean isn't this the coolest picture? A little baby shaking the hand of an old lady who was so happy to see him.
Mesmerized by candy...

This was such a cool experience and I am so glad we got a chance to participate in it! I'm also glad that my mom got to come with us too. Yay for Halloween fun!

Panic Mode

The other day my computer told me that I was critically low on space. A bit dramatic I would say, I mean critically?!? But I decided that it was time to move my pictures from my laptop onto my external hard drive. I hate doing this because moving the pictures means I have to delete them on here. I have real issues with deleting any pictures of Ty, even bad ones so I put it off as long as I can. I just discovered that I deleted the entire month of May 2011 folder without any backup. I about fainted, May was first birthday month and zoo trip and all kinds of fun stuff. Luckily I double backup everything and upload to smug mug, thank the Lord I do that. It just reminds me that I need to start printing out pictures so I have hard copies too. These pictures are absolutely my most prized possession well besides the kid who the pictures are of. Every single day and event no matter how mundane is important to me and I want to document it no matter how weird people think I am or how many pictures I take. So anyway I need to save all my smug mug pictures now back to a hard drive in my possession and that's going to take forever! Oh well maybe next month I will start getting them printed out and putting them in albums and framing some.

Here are some pictures from today's playgroup field trip to the grocery store Publix. Fun in theory but when you have a kid who won't keep the required hair net on its not quite as cool. We had to sit out all the fun parts because Ty wouldn't cooperate. I knew going into it that he was still a bit young and bit too hyper to enjoy something like this but whatever I got out of the house and got to talk to other adults which is always nice. The best part about this trip was that one of the moms said that Ty reminded her of David Beckham and then she asked if I knew who David Beckham was. Oh how that is my favorite compliment I've ever gotten about Ty. Uh hello of course I know Beckham I wanted him to father my next child, guess I don't need him to now since I already have one that looks like him. Score!

Oh and here is Ty enjoying his cupcake that he got for completing the tour. Best part of his day. Of course he had the icing all over his hands and then he decided to roll around in the dirt because they were laughing at him. Oh what am I going to do with this kid. It sure helps his case that he's so dang cute.

"Hey Coronas I know these from my house. Dad must be around here somewhere" thought Ty.

Oh and can I just point out how freaking cute Ty's uber cool shirt is? I ordered it online the other day. I love finding cool and different clothes for him. Plus you have to be a true diehard sports fan to know who Cassius Clay is. They had the Muhammad Ali shirt too but it was sold old in his size. Its ok because I kind of like this one more anyway, very hipster.

Beach Trip

So this past weekend we went to our favorite beach destination, Myrtle Beach for one more beach visit before the cold weather. This time though it was a 4 hour drive and we took the 2 dogs. Good times. Everyone actually did really well in the car. Was it because they were all quiet and slept the whole way or was it because mama made a cocktail before we left and had one in the car that it went so well? Its probably a little bit of both. We had such a good time though! It was cold in the mornings and way to cold to actually go swimming in the ocean but it really warmed up in the afternoons so all was good. Its not like I could have enjoyed a leisurely swim with a 17 month old and 2 dogs anyway. We went on the gigantic ferris wheel which was quite cool. Ty wasn't scared in the least it was completely enclosed though. We also went to the aquarium and Ty really liked that. He did so well everywhere we went (well except for the restaurant but that was expected). The first night we were there we drove the "strip" at night and he loved all the pretty lights. We went out onto the beach and he loved seeing the moon and all the stars. Then on the drive home, he fell asleep and here's where it gets weird, he slept all night long until 7am the next day! Payton had stomach issues all night and had to be taken out every hour with the runs. She stayed in Patrick's room and he took care of that. The next morning Patrick complained about having to wake up all night long as if I wouldn't understand what he just went thru and there's no way anyone could be as tired as he was. Then when I told him Ty slept all night he said "you're so lucky, thats not fair" I chose to hold my tounge as I've learned to pick my battles in this little thing we call parenthood. I just went  along with him and let him think that I've never had to get up every hour with anyone before. It was such a great trip and I was sad to leave the beach as I always am but my mom is coming tomorrow and we have a week full of fun Halloween activities planned. So we'll see you next year beach, thanks for the memories.
